I can’t believe its still raining! It seems to have rained all of June and now we’re into July and guess what? It’s still bloody raining! I went to the gym this morning, came out into the car park and had anther shower! I heard on the news that Wimbledon are going to have matches starting earlier to try and catch up on matches that have been postponed/called off due to rain. It does make you wonder about all this global warming, they keep banging on about it, but it doesn’t seem to work - it just seems to have made the world a wetter place!

I remember as a kid, summers were endless, they were always really sunny from May onwards, even into October it was still good weather. Nowadays, it seems we have a good weekend in April and that’s it, that’s summer! I went on a stag do last weekend to Goodwood Festival of Speed, it rained pretty much non-stop over the weekend and we all got rather muddy footwear.

It was another wet Glastonbury this year. It seems that its always a wet Glastonbury. I remember going as a teenager and it being really hot, then as soon as I got into sixth form, it seemed that each year it got progressively wetter than the previous.

People up north have died from all the flooding, seems ridiculous that a bit of water can cause so much damage and danger. Surely it should all run into sewers or into rivers or something? I live on a hillside so I feel fairly safe, but for some of my mates down nearer to the cut in Southville, I can see that they must be starting to get quite worried about the rising water levels!

We were - our bills were costing us over £100 a month! And they were set to rise by a further £40!

I came across a company called Utility Warehouse, they have a discount club that allows you to save money on your utility bills, such as gas, electric, phone, internet and even mobile phones. At first I was a bit suspicious, but once I got talking to the salesman about the company, I realised that actually they weren’t some “here today, gone tomorrow” flash in the pan. They were here to stay. The company is so big and successul, its even listed on the London Stock exchange.

I went through the bills I was paying, compared them to the rates that the Utility Warehouse would charge me on a like for like basis, and quickly worked out for myself that I could save about £30 a month by switching. I had a chat with the missus about it, she seemed keen to save £30 a month and so I agreed with the salesman to switch.

It’s all gone through now with no hickups, we get all our bills on one simple bill each month and we’re saving some money. I don’t see any of the savings mind you, it just means we get to eat out once a month for free, thanks to the savings we’re making with Utility Warehouse. To find out more, visit Piggy Bank Savings
