Not the best time of year to start a football blog I know, what with it being Wimbledon and all the major football stories revolving around Peter Crouch getting fidly with his missus on the holiday and Wazza and co watching the boxing in Las Vegas.

What I’m hoping is that by the time the new football season starts in August, is that I’ll have a nice little website with lots of readers all ready to read about my silly rantings and ravings about football. It’ll be mainly Premiership stuff, and within that there will be a lot of Man Utd talk, though I will try and be fair.

As well as Premiership football, they’ll be commentary about the Champions League, and the run up to Euro 2008. I might even try and write about Bristol City, seeming as I live about half a mile from Ashton Gate and they have just been promoted to the Championship.

Ahhh, before you say it, I’m not one of these Man Utd fans that doesn’t have a clue where Manchester is or anything. I have roots in Manchester. My mother is from Manchester, and her father, my grandfather was a lifelong Man Utd fan, used to have a season ticket in the Stretford End. My dad on the other hand, wouldn’t have a clue about football, he’s more into trains, and steam trains at that. Shame really, as he’s from Wigan and he’d be able to get a cheap season ticket to see them, would be a welcome boost to their attendance levels no doubt.
